Minor drives auto rickshaw, owner booked

DODA, Nov 20: Jammu and Kashmir Police in Doda District today booked an auto rickshaw driver for allowing a minor to drive.
The action was taken during a special drive launched against the traffic violators in Bhaderwah Town.
Sharing details, a police spokesperson said that Mohammad Ismail son of Naseem Ahmed Ganie of Jai Road Bhaderwah (auto rickshaw owner) was booked in case FIR number 148/2023 Under Sections 279, 337, 336 IPC and 04/181 Motor Vehicle Act registered at Police Station Bhaderwah after a minor he allowed to drive his auto hit and injured two pedestrians.
He said that Mohammad Ismail has been arrested and his vehicle seized. The minor boy was also produced in the juvenile court for the offence made out against him for committing the incident, said the police spokesperson.
Meanwhile, police in Doda District have further warned the owners of the vehicles and parents of the minors that in case any unauthorised person is found driving their vehicle, the owners and the parents would be booked under the provisions of the law for stringent action against them.
