JAMMU, Apr 12: A minor boy was mowed down by an Army vehicle near Ratnuchack area, falling under the jurisdiction of Sainik Colony police post.
As per police sources, a 7-year-old boy namely Vansh Sharma, son of Hari Ram of Rajpura, district Samba was moving along road side, when an Army vehicle hit him at Ratnuchack.
The profusely bleeding child was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where doctors pronounced him as brought dead.
The body will be handed over to family members for last rites tomorrow after completing legal formalities.
The driver of the Army vehicle identified as Arul Dural of 422 Independent Engineering, SQN Battalion, Ratnuchack has been arrested.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Sainik Colony police post and investigation started.
