JAMMU, Feb 21: A 13-year-old boy was killed today in a road mishap in Trikuta Nagar area of city outskirts.
“The deceased was identified as Sumit son of Din Dayal Chand, resident of Bihar (at present living in Trikuta Nagar area),” a police official said. He said the boy was hit by a rashly driven motorcycle (bearing registration number JK02AF-4617) by an unknown rider at Trikuta Nagar, this morning.
The official said the boy received serious injuries in the mishap and was immediately rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where he was declared as brought dead by the doctors.
He said after postmortem, the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites while a case in this connection was registered at police station Trikuta Nagar. The efforts were on to nab the accused bike rider, who was at large.
