JAMMU, Feb 11: Minister of State for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Ajaz Ahmed Khan today said that work on Mini Secretariat Poonch and Tehsil Office Complex Mandi is expected to be completed by 2014-15.
Replying to calling Attention notice of Dr Shehnaz Ganai in the LC today the Minister said the matter is being taken up with the Planning & Development Department for release of required additional funds to ensure that these buildings get completed within the next financial year.
Mr. Ajaz said that the estimated cost for construction of Mini Secretariat Poonch was initially to the tune of Rs. 1369.80 lakh which was later revised to Rs. 1833.60 lakh to incorporate some corrective measures including construction of retaining wall and protection wall as suggested by the inspection team.
The Minister said that Rs. 10 crore have already been utilized on the project including 299.46 lakh paid on account of land compensation and Rs. 700.54 lakh utilized for the construction of the building. There is an additional requirement of the Rs. 832.60 lakh for completing the building and the same is being arranged.
Mr. Ajaz further said that the estimated cost of construction of Tehsil Office complex Mandi is Rs. 338.30 lakh out of which an amount of Rs. 180 lakh have been utilized for the construction of the building. The remaining funds amounting to Rs. 158.30 lakh is being arranged and the building will be completed at the earliest.
