Militants strike in Srinagar ahead of PM’s visit, two dead

Srinagar : “Two police men were shot dead when militants fired at them in Srinagar’s busy market place this afternoon”, Senior Superintedent of Police Srinagar, Ashiq Bukhari said here.

“Militants fired at them when they were performing thier duty in the busy market place”, Bukhari said.

“They were rushed to hosppital where doctors declared them brought dead “, the SSP said.

ENDSPolice also fired in air.

The incident created panic in the area and people ran for cover.

Senior police officers rushed to the spot to assess the situation.
