Militants snatch 4 rifles in Anantnag

SRINAGAR, Sept 18: Militants this evening decamped with four AK-47 rifles from the security guards of district president of People’s Democratic Party leader at Dailgam in South Kashmir district of Anantnag.
Sources said that militants armed with rifles and knives entered into the house of Advocate Javed Ahmad at Dialgam, district president PDP, and decamped with four AK-47 rifles.
Senior Army officers reached the spot and manhunt has been launched against the militants responsible for it.
Reports said that four persons posing local residents made their entry into the residence of PDP leader and decamped with four AK rifles at gun point.
This is the second incident of weapon snatching in recent days in South Kashmir. Earlier on September 7, militants decamped with four rifles from the security guards of a NC leader from Kulgam.
Prior to this on September 4, INSAS rifle was snatched from the security guard posted at the residence of CPI (M) leader Ali Mohammad Koka at Bugam in South Kashmir’s district of Kulgam.
