Militants attack security forces patrolling unit in south Kashmir

SRINAGAR: Militants attacked a security force patrolling party in south Kashmir district of Pulwama on Sunday evening.

Official sources said militants fired at a joint patrolling party of police and CRPF at around 1700 hrs in Pulwama town. “The security forces retaliated ensuing in a brief exchange of fire,” they said, adding the militants later managed to escape from the spot.

No one was injured in the exchange of fire, they said. Additional security forces were rushed and a search operation has been launched to nab the attackers. (AGENCIES)
