Srinagar, June 9: Militants attacked an Army search party in Bandipora forests of North Kashmir this evening triggering a brief encounter.
Army’s 14 RR cordoned off Raynar forest area this evening following inputs about movement of a militant group.
As the troops launched the cordon, militants hiding in the area opened fire on them triggering a brief exchange of gunfire. However, there was  no casualty on either side.
Additional reinforcements of Army and SOG rushed to the spot and a massive cordon was laid around the area.
The operation was suspended due to dense forest area and darkness. However, it is not yet known whether militants are trapped inside or have fled from the cordon.
