Srinagar, Sept 23: A quake, measuring 4.5 on Richter scale with epincentre in Hajan area of Bandipora district hit Kashmir valley today.
The tremors, which were felt at around 0544 hours, lasted for few seconds and no damage or casualties were reported in it. People, however, rushed out of their homes in panic.
According to United States Geological Survey (USGS), the epicentre of the earthquake was Sumbal in North Kashmir district of Baramulla, at a depth of 150 kms in the Earth’s crust.
