Migrants concern over non availability of ration

JAMMU, Aug 10: The Kashmiri migrants have expressed their resentment and dismay over non issuance of ration for last some months to the relief holders in camps and non camp localities.
In a statement issued here today, Sunil Pandita and Vijay Koul social activists said that supply of floor has been totally denied to displaced relief holders for the first time this year which they were getting for last 32 years from Government of India under security related expenses.
They said sugar quota has already been stopped for reasons not known while the rice is not available on ration depots for quite some time.
Expressing their dismay over the same they sought immediate attention of higher ups in the Government and demanded immediate release of ration to the relief holders who have no source of income except the financial assistance given by the Government.
They said on the meager cash assistance they are unable to feed their families and also purchase ration from the market on higher rates.
They warned in case the problem is not solved immediately the displaced people living in camps and non camps are left with no alternative except to come to streets and protest.
