Expressing their anguish over the discriminatory attitude and approach of both State as well as Centre towards the community they said that it is surprising and astonishing that for  over last 27 years of their exile neither National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) nor Minority Commission of the country has taken the successive Governments in the State and at the Centre to task over the burning issues of Kashmiri migrants  who are still leading a miserable life and the chances of their return and rehabilitation with honour and dignity seem totally bleak under the giving circumstances.
They said due to lack of sincerity on the part of both State and Central Governments, the population of Kashmiri Pandits is dwindling day by day. The leaders of the community further said that only Rs 83 are given as a relief to one soul for his survival which is very insufficient in these hard days as the prices of essential commodities have touched sky.
The leaders of the community also blamed the successive Governments that that for last over 27 years they have utterly failed to provide the employment opportunities to needful and deserving community youth and the PM’s job package has turned out to be a cruel joke with the community. Moreover, no concrete steps were taken for the dignified and honourable rehabilitation of the community, he added.
The leaders appealed the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) to intervene in the matter to save the Kashmiri Hindus who are internally displaced in their own country facing many hardships.
They said the migrants san basic facilities in the Jagti, Muthi, Purkhoo and Nagrota camps and Government is sleeping over the issue. They urged the Government to clear its stand towards this hapless community.
The migrant relief holders also threatened to come on roads if the present BJP -PDP coalition will not consider their demands. They also demanded financial package for over-aged youth for their self employment. The protest was led by Ravinder Koul.
