Migrant labourers of Kendrapara stranded in flood ravaged valley

KENDRAPADA, Sept 11:
Several skilled plumbers from Kendrapara district were stranded in Jammu and Kashmir devastated in the recent flood fury.
Sources here said the plumbers from Balipatana, Penthapala, Badamulabasant, Taradipal, Kasanianta, Balipada,Srirampur, Belatala, Alapua, Balipada and ward no-7 of Pattamundai NAC working as plumbers in Jammu and Kashmir have been stranded in the valley.
Most of the plumbers were working in  Elaichibag, Sivapura, Hydrapura, Safulkudal locality of the flood ravaged valley.    Several family members of the stranded plumbers were spending sleepless night as they failed to contact their kins.    Unable to contact their kins, the family members of the plumbers here are constantly monitoring the television news channel to update themselves about the latest situation in the valley.
The family members urged the district administration to take steps to help them communicate with their kins in flood ravaged valley of Jammu and Kashmir and to bring them back home.    District Collector Pramod Kumar Das said he had already asked the district labour officer to ascertain the number of people stranded in the valley and to take steps to bring them back.
