JAMMU, Mar 8: Migrant candidates appearing for interviews for various posts under PM’s package have demanded that the interviews be postponed to April in view of bad weather conditions and closure of National Highway.
A large number of candidates who have left for Valley to face the interviews in various districts of Valley beginning from tomorrow rang Excelsior office saying that they are stranded at various places on National Highway due to heavy snow fall and avalanches while some returned to Jammu.
They said that it is difficult for the candidates to attend the interviews on schedule dates so the Government should postpone the same up to April as majority of students are unable to attend the interviews due to closure of road and suspension of air service to Valley.
Meanwhile various KP Organizations including BJP Displaced Kashmir general secretary Virender Kuchroo, JTC president Shadi Lal Pandita, AMCCC president Desh Rattan have also demanded that the interviews be postponed immediately.
They criticized the Government for delaying decision in this regard. “The order for release of separatist and anti national leader was issued within minutes by the Government but it did not bother to postpone the interviews of the migrant candidates who are unable to attend the same due to closure of NH’’, said Desh Rattan and Shadi Lal Pandita.
However when contacted the chairperson SSRB, Shagufta Pervez said that instructions have been given to all concerned to accommodate those candidates on other dates who can’t reach Valley tomorrow or day after to attend interviews.
But the KP Organizations said that there is not possibility that road will open for days together and in the larger interests of the candidates the Government should postpone the interviews.
