MIET records best placement season with 150 offer letters

JAMMU, June 20: The placement season at Model Institute of Engineering and Technology concluded with 150 offer letters for graduating batch of Engineering students. This comes after 100 percent placements for the graduating batch of MBA students.
This was informed by Dean Placements and Training, Prof B C Sharma and Dr Sahil Sawhney, Senior Manager Strategic Initiatives in the placement report submitted to the management.
15 Corporate houses, including IT majors and prominent start-ups, hired 124 final year engineering students from Model Institute of Engineering and Technology. 26 students received more than one offer letter. The companies, which hired students from MIET, included BYJUs, Practo Technologies, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Manhattan Associates, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Cognizant Technologies, Luminous Technologies, Tech Aspect, Co-Cubes, Tech Mahindra, Aricent and Itenic Technologies.
Shivam Suri, Abhinandan Kapoor and Shuvam Mahajan received the highest package of 10 lakhs per annum by BYJUs where as Sadhika Baloria, Shivam Suri and Suvapnil Dubey received a package of 8.58 lakhs per annum offered by Practo Technologies. The median salary for the batch was 3.5 lakhs per annum.
Dr Arun K Gupta, Chairman MIER, Dr Renu Gupta, Vice-Chairperson MIER, Prof Ankur Gupta, Director MIET and Prof S K Sharma, Director Academics, assured greater support to the placement team in delivering outstanding value to the current and prospective students at MIET. The visiting teams from the Corporate houses lauded the efforts of institution for up-skilling students and preparing them for careers in corporate sector.
MIET, which is ranked 72nd in the top 100 private engineering colleges in the country by Dataquest, is preparing students for cutting-edge industry jobs by exposing them to advanced tools and technologies through its linkages with Amazon, Ui-path, Dell EMC, IBM and Cisco. Several more offer letters are expected as final results from multiple placement drives is pending.
