JAMMU, Sept 20: The Alumni Committee of MIER College of Education organized an Alumni Interaction Session for students of BEd and BEd Special programmes.
Guest alumni at the interaction session included Megavika, a special educator and the founder of Blessings Intervention Centre, as well as Mukesh Sharma, Director and Principal of Bright Life School in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The invited alumni speakers were welcomed and introduced by Arpana Koul, Incharge Alumni Committee.
While pursuing his degree at MIER, Mukesh Sharma had experiences that had a profound impact on the development of his competitive spirit and drive for excellence. As an alumnus, he expressed his gratitude to MIER College for providing him with a platform to participate in a variety of activities. As a result, he received numerous prizes, including several first prizes in inter-college competitions, best NSS volunteer for the academic session 2014–15, etc.
As a special educator, Meghavika presented her ideas and experiences. She began her work in special education with the simple but essential belief that every individual, regardless of abilities or limitations, deserves an education that enables them to fulfill their full potential. She emphasized that creating an inclusive environment—one in which every kid is appreciated for who they are and what they can contribute—requires more than simply integrating children with disabilities into regular classrooms.
During the question-answer session, both speakers cleared their doubts and provided valuable insights for the successful completion of the programme.
Prof Adit Gupta, Principal, MIER College, such alumni meets would inspire and motivate the current students to attain high goals in both their personal and professional lives.
Dr Behzad Maqbool, a member of the Alumni Committee presented a formal vote of thanks to the distinguished speakers and the audience. The programme was compered by Chavi, a student of BEd Semester II.
