Jammu, Mar 16: Senior National Conference leader and Member Legislative Assembly Kangan Mian Altaf Ahmed has sought immediate release of the contractors pending payments.
Expressing solidarity with protesting contractors, the NC leader has asked Government to release the pending payments of the contractors immediately.
In a statement, Mian Altaf said that the contractors are protesting now for a long time and nothing substatntial has been done to redress their geniune issue instead of they are arrested and locked up in police stations.
Mian Altaf criticized the Government for withholding payments in crores of rupees due to the contractors which has resulted in their huge losses besides hampering their normal works besides the contractors who have taken loan from banks are unable to repay it.
