NEW DELHI: The Ministry of Home Affairs today gave permission to Central Bureau of Investigations (CBI) to prosecute ex-Principal Secretary to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Rajendra Kumar, in corruption case.

The Ministry has also rejected the plea of VRS that was filed by Kumar. In December last year, CBI had sought MHA’s permission to prosecute Kumar, who was arrested by it earlier this year on corruption charges.

In a document submitted in this regard to the Home Ministry last year, the Investigating Agency had claimed that they had sufficient material evidence to chargesheet Kumar and others. These evidences included audio recordings containing Kumar’s instructions to “influence and manipulate” contracts in favour of Endeavour Systems Private Limited (ESPL). (AGENCIES)
