SHIMLA, Jan 15:
India Meteorological Department today issued warning of heavy rain or snowfall at a few places in Chamba, Lahaul and Spiti, Kullu, Kangra, Kinnaur and Shimla districts on January 17 and 18.
It also warned of heavy rain and thundershowers at a few places in Una, Hamirpur, Bilaspur, Solan and Sirmaur districts on the two days.
This sudden change in weather is likely to occur due to prevailing Western Disturbances in the North west Himalayan ranges which could also bring rain or snowfall tomorrow on parts of state.
The weather was mainly dry and day and night temperatures rose slightly.
Minimum temperature of Keylong was low at minus 6.5 degrees Celsius, Kalpa in Kinnuar minus 2.6 degrees, tourist resort Manali at zero degree, Solan and Nahan in Sirmour 2 degrees each, Bhuntar in Kullu 3.6 degrees, Shimla 3.7 degrees, Una 3.8 degrees, Sundernagar in Mandi 4.4 degrees and Mandi 5.6 degrees and Dharmshala 8.6 degrees.
