Mentha oil futures remain up on rising demand

NEW DELHI, Aug 28:  Mentha oil prices rose by 0.40 per cent to Rs 697 per kg in futures market today today as speculators enlarged positions, supported by rising demand from consuming industries in the spot market.
Besides, restricted arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh too influenced prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in September gained Rs 2.80, or 0.40 per cent to Rs 697 per kg in business turnover of 148 lots.
In a similar fashion, the oil for delivery in August edged up by Rs 2.30, or 0.34 per cent to Rs 686.70 per kg in 34 lots.
Market analysts said speculators enlarged position on the back of rising demand from consuming industries in the spot market amid restricted arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh, mainly kept mentha oil prices remain higher at futures trade. (PTI)
