Mentha oil futures extend losses on low demand

NEW DELHI, Mar 14: Mentha oil extended losses for the fifth-straight day with prices falling by 0.30 per cent to Rs 833.50 per kg in futures trade today as speculators trimming positions, driven by low demand against higher supplies.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in March fell further by Rs 2.50, or 0.30 per cent to Rs 833.50 per kg in business turnover of 117 lots.
In a similar fashion, the oil for delivery in April shed Rs 2.40 or 0.28 per cent to Rs 842 per kg in 40 lots.
Analysts said speculators trimming positions due to low demand against higher supply from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh mainly kept pressure on mentha oil prices at futures trade. (AGENCIES)
