JAMMU, Jan 14: The dead body of a mentally unsound man was recovered today from Raipur-Satwari area of city outskirts.
According to a police spokesperson, the dead body of the man identified as Balwan Singh (35) son of Darshan Singh, a resident of Hakkal, Chatha falling under the limits of police station Satwari, was spotted this morning by some locals near a canal in Raipur-Satwari area.
They informed the police who reached the spot and shifted the body to mortuary room of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu.
The spokesperson said that no injury mark was found on the body of the deceased and it appears that he died of chill, as he was mentally unsound and used to wander in the area.
A case in this connection has been registered at police station Satwari and proceedings initiated under 174 CrPC.
