Member NCM interacts with Muslim, Sikh communities at Kishtwar

KISHTWAR, June 29: Member for National Commission for Minorities, Rinchen Lhamo today said that the commission has taken several revolutionary steps for welfare of minority communities to ensure their upliftment.
This was stated by Member for National Commission for Minorities, Rinchen Lhamo in an interactive meeting with the representative of Muslim and Sikh Minority Communities at Chenab Bhawan.
During interactive meeting, the Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Ashok Sharma; SSP Kishtwar Shafkat Hussain Bhat; District Social Welfare Officer Kishtwar, Zubair Ahmed; CDPO Drabshalla Farhat Shamim Khan besides  representatives of Muslim and Sikh communities remained present.
Speaking on the occasion, she said that the mandate of NCM  is to provide education and employment opportunities to minority section of society.
The Member NCM listed out some of the initiatives like providing scholarship, training and extending loan facilities at affordable rates to the minority Communities.
Later in the meeting, the representatives of various minority communities highlighted their demands regarding the upliftment of minorities in district Kishtwar.
She took note of their demands and assured them that their genuine issues will be taken up with higher ups for immediate Redressal.
Rinchen Lhamo urged the representatives of minority communities to work in collaboration with District Administration to make awareness about welfare schemes among the masses of minorities group so that they may be saturated with the benefits of these schemes meant for upliftment of minorities so that minorities are well accommodated.
Earlier, Rinchen Lhamo visited Paddar area and also held an interactive meeting with Bhuddist and other minorities to listen their issues and grievances.
