Mehta seeks overview of functioning, crime position of SCW

JAMMU, Feb 5: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sandeep Mehta today chaired a meeting of the police officers of the Special Crime Wing (SCW) here to seek an overview of the functioning and the crime position of the wing.
The SCW was created by the Government in the year 2022 to investigate the cases falling under the broader category of severe crimes involving political motives and offences related to arms and ammunition, theft of Government arms/ammunition, illicit trade in arms, fraud, and cheating cases below Rs 20 lakh, cases of cinematography, video piracy and copy right, cases of Trade Marks Act, dacoity, house breaking by an adopt gang, and extortion among other crimes including human trafficking.
During the meeting, Mehta impressed upon the officers to work with honesty and dedication to come up to the expectations of the masses.
“Special Crime Wing Jammu is a premier investigating agency of the J&K which is committed to fulfil the aspirations of the victims of various frauds and crimes,” Mehta said in a statement.
