JAMMU, July 13: Former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti’s statement warning rise of more Salahuddin and Yasin Malik if the Centre tries to break her party, has invited sharp reaction from estranged alliance partner BJP and some Jammu based organizations.
Lashing out hard at her statement, the former Deputy Chief Minister and MLA Gandhi Nagar, Kavinder Gupta said, it was very unfortunate on the part of such senior politicians to issue misleading statements which are hostile to the process of peace and national interests.
Interacting with the media persons, during tour of his legislative constituency, the former Dy CM said, so on after the withdrawal of support by the BJP, legislators of the PDP came out openly against their own party chief for promoting nepotism and compromising with the core issues with in the Government and their party.
“Such statements are the outcome of her failure in handling the affairs of the State in impartial manner and thus denying the due share of development to all the three regions, which was the core issue of the alliance partners, clearly mentioned in the agenda of alliance, moreover she created a sense of confusion and regional divide among the people,” he further said.
“As per her allegation against us for trying to split his party goes, it is just a baseless allegation on her part and is just the outcome of the frustration citing uncertainty in her political career along with denial of support by her own party men, further justifying her annoyance is the sacking of her two time Member Legislative Council from the post of PDP district president,” Kavinder pointed out.
The former Dy CM suggested Mehbooba Mufti that she shouldn’t be worried about the situation of J&K as the BJP led Centre Government was very much concerned about the State and regularly monitoring the day to day activities here besides taking the requisite measures. “Her claim that the situation of Kashmir will again see the days of late 80’s and early 90’s is ridiculous and condemnable,” he added.
The activists of Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) held a protest against former CM Mehbooba Mufti for her anti-national statement.
The protesters led by Sunil Dimple, president, Jammu West Assembly Movement, burnt effigies and flags of Pakistan and separatists, while raising slogans against them.
While addressing the protesters, Dimple demanded registration of sedition case against Mehbooba Mufti for her anti -national statement, provoking militancy in the State. He also demanded cancellation of PDP’s registration.
Dimple urged Governor N N Vohra to dissolve State Assembly and handing the State affairs to Army so as to save the State from further destruction, blood- shed.
He said it is very unfortunate that the Governor rule has been imposed till yet and demanded for taking strong action against stone- pelters and the Pak agents.
Activists of Dogra Front and Shiv Sena under the leadership of their President, Ashok Gupta also staged a protest demonstration against the statement of former Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti.
Addressing the protesters Gupta said that Mehbooba with her statement was trying to give fodder to the terrorists.
He said that any person who speaks against the interests of the nation should be banned from participating in elections.
“When Mehbooba was the CM she had no problem with the Prime Minister but the moment power slipped of her hands she has started blaming the Centre for horse trading,” Gupta maintained.
He further stated that Mehbooba Mufti is threatening by her statement so she should be arrested.
