SRINAGAR, July 22: Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti today said that United States and China should mind their own business as India and Pakistan have to resolve their issues bilaterally in the light of Shimla Agreement and Lahore declaration.
Mehbooba, while reacting to the statement of former Chief Minister and National Conference president Dr Farooq Abdullah on the sidelines of a function at Anantnag, said that   there can be no third party mediation in Jammu and Kashmir. “There can be no place for a third party intervention in Jammu and Kashmir,” she said.
The Chief Minister said that America has ruined all those places from Afghanistan to Syria and Iraq and wherever it has intervened. “Let America and China mind their own business. Look at the places America has interfered in, be it Afghanistan, Syria, or Iraq. China has its own problems in Tibet. I feel we have our own road map and even after war, India and Pakistan have to hold talks. We have the Lahore Declaration and the Shimla Agreement with us,” she said.

Mehbooba said that there are lot of issues around the world and US and UK can’t do anything and India and Pakistan have to resolve issues bilaterally. “What can US, United Kingdom do for us.  When we have to resolve the issue together (India and Pakistan), then why do we need any third party. There are lot of issues in world this time, you see what has happened to Afghanistan, Syria or Iraq”, she said.
The Chief Minister while rubbishing Abdullah’s statement asked: “does he want this place to be ruined or want its prosperity.”
“God forbid, does Farooq sahib want we should meet same fate or he wants Jammu and Kashmir to prosper? We have great leaders like Indiraji and Vajpayee Ji who reached to Shimla agreement and Lahore declaration (with Pakistan). We have to take them forward”, she said.
Mehbooba said that India Pakistan should focus on mitigating problems of its people. “Everyday our soldiers and people die on border and same happens there (in Pakistan) as well. Some solution should come out for (ending) this and the solution will come only when we, both the countries, care about these agreements which we have done and we sit together and end poverty, provide our people with electricity, water and employment”, she said.
The Chief Minister said that the police have lodged an FIR against the Army personnel who thrashed the cops in Ganderbal today and assured action will be taken against them.
Mehbooba described the killing of a youth in Beerwah area of Budgam district in Army firing as unfortunate. “It is very unfortunate and it should not have happened. Unfortunately some people come out and pelt stone and other people also get affected”, she said.
