Wani, Rather, Nizamuddin too served notices

SRINAGAR, Nov 27: Authorities in Anantnag have asked the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti and seven former lawmakers to quit Government residential quarters within 24 hours or face disciplinary action.
Mufti was also slapped with an eviction notice for her ‘Fairview’ property in the city’s tight guarded Gupkar area last month.
The eviction notice was served to Mufti and others today by the Executive Magistrate First Class on the instructions of the Anantnag Deputy Commissioner for the Government quarters located in Housing Colony at Khanabal in the south Kashmir area.
The notifications were sent to ex-MLAs Mohammad Altaf Wani, Abdul Rahim Rather, Abdul Majeed Bhat, Altaf Shah and Abdul Kabir Pathan, as well as ex-MLCs Bashir Shah and Choudhary Nizamuddin.
The notifications warned the inhabitants that they would face legal consequences if they did not quit the premises within 24 hours.
Sunday’s eviction notice, by the Executive Magistrate First Class on the orders of the Anantnag Deputy Commissioner was issued to Mufti and others for the government quarters located in Housing Colony at Khanabal in the South Kashmir district, the officials said.
