JAMMU, Oct 28: “The Humane Quest- Volume 2”, the 2nd book written by Mehak Gupta Grover, daughter of the soil, was released recently at the Asian Literary Confluence 2018 at New Delhi.
Mehak is born and brought up in Jammu and settled in Chandigarh after marriage with Varun Grover, Executive Director, Amartex Industries Limited, Chandigarh. She has a bachelor’s degree in Law.
The ceremony was presided over by guest of honours, Dr Santosh bakayaji (Incredible Woman of the Year, 2015), Sudershan Kcherryji (CEO, Authorspress), Lily Swarnji (international award winning poet), Satbir Chaddha (winner of Reuel International Prize of literature) and other literary luminaries.
The book ponders upon the societal issues at large. It covers all the current issues which are being faced by the society including The ‘New’ Millennials, the Clash of Man and Machine, How Much More, Where is My Humanity and the list is long.
The author firmly believes that the old-aged traditions or the values for which our country is famous world over are not just the values. They are the instilled cultures rooted deep within us that make us true human being. We live in a world that has limitless possibilities. We fought for this, prayed for this and sacrificed for this. Yet we try to take this away from the people.
“We engage in holy wars or public crusades against things that we don’t understand. We shut our minds from knowing more about the people around us, their thoughts and beliefs. And we blame them for being different”, the author expresses.
