SAMBA, Nov 29: A Youth Convention by KAUSHAL SANGAM (District Skill Development and Employment Cell) an initiative of District Administration, Samba was organized in Conference Hall of the DC office, Samba, wherein professionals from the Industry, Trade and budding entrepreneurs interacted with about 500 youth of Samba district.
The Youth Convention was organized to provide direct interface between job seekers and job providers, with Government in the role of facilitator. Youth also got opportunity to hear the story of successful entrepreneurs. It provided platform to know about the aspirations of the youth and to make them aware about various Self employment and Skill Development Schemes of the Government.
Deputy Commissioner Samba, Anuradha Gupta was the chief guest on the occasion. She appreciated the efforts of Kaushal Sangam team in organizing Youth Convention and bringing various stakeholders in Education, Employment and Skill development on a single platform.
She appealed to the youth to become aware of the changing scenario in the Employment and Skill and keep themselves updated with latest developments and work towards excellence in their chosen field.
A large number of professionals from industry/Mega projects attended the Youth Convention prominent being Charanjeet Singh Walia, Vice President, Alhuwalia Contracts (India) Ltd, Surinder Singh Oberoi, Project Manager Dry Port. Besides, officers of NHAI and HR managers of construction companies engaged by NHAI also shared their profiles with participating youth.
The professionals from Industry apprised about the Job requirements/ Skill required in the near future in view of the setting up of new Industries and Mega projects like Dry Port, AIIMS, NHAI etc being undertaken in the District.
An open forum interactive session was also held wherein the queries of the youth were addressed by the professionals from Industries.
On the occasion, a job fair was also held by District Employment and Counseling Centre Samba wherein 12 Companies of National repute like Reliance JIO, RBSiGLOBAL, SBI Life, Geneka Pharmaceutical, Kokuyo-Camlin Ltd, UFLEX Ltd, Jamkash Trucking Pvt. Ltd., Fair Deal Motors and Workshop Pvt. Ltd. participated and shortlisted 137 candidates for various positions.
21 Sanction letters were also handed over by Deputy Commissioner under different Govt. Sponsored Self Employment Schemes amounting to subsidy of Rs. 23 lakh and loan amount of Rs. 1.30 crore.289 candidates were also registered for various Skill Development Schemes.
Among others Additional Deputy Commissioner Rakesh Dubey, PO ICDS Joginder Singh, CPO Sukhleen Kour, AD Employment, PRI members, locals and about 500 youth participated in the Youth Convention.
