Mega medical camp held in Chalyan

SRINAGAR, Feb 21: The Indian Army’s 53 Rashtriya Rifles (53 RR) today organised a mega medical camp at Chalyan Choontinad village in Charar-i-Sharief tehsil of Budgam district, providing specialist healthcare to residents of the remote area.
The camp was held in collaboration with the Health Department. A total of 523 patients were examined by specialists from Sub-District Hospital Charar-i-Sharief, along with Army doctors and paramedical staff.
Commanding Officer 53 RR, Col Nitin Sharma, said the camp aimed to address healthcare gaps in far-flung areas.
The Army medical team included Capt Pankaj and five nursing assistants. The Health Department team comprised Dr Tariq Aziz (General Physician), Dr Shaheen (Gynecologist), Dr Sheikh Sarwar (Orthopedician), Dr Adil (Pediatrician), Dr Iqbal (Medical Officer) and ophthalmic technician Lateef Ahmad Bhat.
Local residents and social activists, including Dr Raja Muzaffar Bhat, Mushtaq Ahmad Lone, Mudaser Yatoo, Shabir Ahmad, Nazir Ahmad Nengroo and Rafiq Ahanger, attended the camp.
Col Sharma was accompanied by Lt Col Mohsin and Maj Amay Bhardwaj.
