It is quite disgusting that the State Government has not extended Mediclaim Insurance Policy for all State Government employees. Making it applicable to Gazetted section only reflects the discriminatory attitude of the Government. It is non-gazetted section rather than Gazetted which should have been brought under the policy provisions as this section is not financially sound as compared to the Gazetted section.
It is not late. The Government should issue orders for inclusion of non-gazetted section too in the policy without further delay so that Health Insurance Cards could be issued in favour of the all employees to enable them to get the cashless treatment under the policy in the network hospitals.
This has become necessary in view of rising cost of medicines and exorbitant charges levied by hospitals for treatment of various diseases.
It is expected that the Government takes note of the concern expressed by the non-gazetted section of society.
