Displaying list of medicines

Sir,
Refer news item ‘Display list of medicines available in hospitals’ DE April 25.
People have been often complaining that they  do not get medicines from Government hospitals and have to buy them from market on exorbitant prices. There is a nexus between doctors and chemists on this front. While hospital authorities say that they do not have adequate supplies to meet the growing demand of patients and it is in rare cases that patients are asked medicines from the market. To put an end to this issue for ever, it is a way out that the hospital display the list of medicines available there, as has been suggested by the State Information Commissioner while disposing a complaint filed by an RTI activist in this regards.
The hospital authorities should without loss of time take necessary measures in this regard.
Further, it should be also ensured that the drugs available there are not sub-standard as has been  found recently.
Yours etc…
