The State Government had been quite magnanimous when it came to providing mediclaim cover to gazetted officers of the State. But it did not show such generosity towards non-gazetted section.
At a time when prices of medicines are touching sky, it is becoming extremely difficult for lower rung of employees to bear the same. Besides, one does not know with what justification the State Government extended mediclaim cover to the gazetted section and left others. It defies any logic and reasoning. The Government should not have discriminated in this manner.
Non-Gazetted sections is equally important as the gazetted section. Rather non-gazetted section should have been the first choice of the planners.
Even now the situation can be redeemed by extending the mediclaim cover to this section.
Hope, the present Government may take it into account before election process in the State starts.
