JAMMU, Sept 3: Medical Teachers Association of GMC / IGGDC Jammu, has strongly condemned the physical assault on doctors including a faculty member in Government Medical College Jammu and demanded adequate security system in the hospital.
Such incidents affect the morale of the doctors who are already working under tremendous pressure and with minimum resources, MTA said in a statement and added that the Association time and again has brought this problem in the notice of the administration which has failed to take corrective steps.
“The Hospital is without proper /adequate security system for the last 6 years. This under the present circumstance is very unfortunate and has made the hospital a place where anti- social elements roam freely and at the same time has made the hospital a very insecure place to work,” the MTA further said and demanded adequate security system in the hospital and making assault on the doctors a cognisable, non- bailable offence as has been done in Maharashtra, Gujarat and other States.
