Medical store owner among 2 arrested with intoxicant capsules, Rs 1.50 lakh cash

REASI, Oct 16: Two persons including a medical shop owner were arrested along with around 7000 intoxicant capsules and Rs 1.50 lakh cash.
This was stated by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Reasi Rashmi Wazir while interacting with media persons here today.
Divulging the details, SSP said that a information was received at Police Station Arnas that a medical store owned by Ashesh Kumar, son of Som Dutt at Hunder Gali is selling psychotropic drugs among the youth of the areas.
“Acting over the information, a team from Arnas Police Station led by SI Babu Ram along with Executive Magistrate Dr Riyaz Ahmed reached the spot and conducted search of the store”, SSP said, adding that during search, around 3,000 intoxicant capsules and tablets were recovered and the owner of the shop was arrested on the spot.

Taking further lead from Ashesh Kumar, police party apprehended Ravinder Singh, son of Lal Singh of Chassana in presence of Executive Magistrate at Maslote when he was coming to supply 4,000 capsules to Ashesh Kumar. He was main supplier who used to supply these capsules to medical shops in Arnas, Mahore and Chassana, SSP said.
“Ravinder Singh was carrying these capsules in his Wagon R car. Moreover Rs 1.50 lakh cash was also recovered from his possession, which he was carrying to purchase consignment from medical agency somewhere in Jammu”, SSP Rashmi Wazir informed.
A case under FIR Number 92/2020 under section 8/21/23 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Arnas and further investigation is going on.
The whole operation was conducted by Incharge SHO Arnas SI Qasim under the supervision of SDPO Arnas Dr Satish Bhardwaj, Additional SP Reasi Surjeet Bhagat and SSP Reasi Rashmi Wazir.
