Medical shop owner among four arrested with intoxicant capsules, heroin

JAMMU, May 19: Four drug peddlers including a medical shop owner have been arrested along with large quantity of intoxicant capsules and heroin.
As per police sources, on reliable information, a team from Police Station Bishnah led by SHO Inspector Rattan Singh laid a naka at Kunda near Kameshwar Mandir intercepted two pedestrians, who were moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police team recovered 210 intoxicant capsules from the possession of the pedestrians and arrested them.
The arrested persons have been identified as Vishal, son of Kewal Krishan of Pasgal Tehsil Bishnah and Surjeet Kumar, son of Kala Ram of Chak Avtara, Bishnah.
During preliminary questioning, the accused disclosed that the capsules were procured by them from Rajeev Sharma, son of Raja Ram Sharma of Ward Number 9 Bishnah, who runs a medical shop on the name ‘Samridhi Medical Hall’ near Sub District Hospital Bishnah.
Based on the information, police party along with the Executive Magistrate 1st Class Bishnah (Tehsildar) searched the medical shop and recovered 110 intoxicant capsules from the shop. Police team arrested Rajeev Sharma, owner of the shop.
A case under FIR Number 66/19 under section 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Bishnah and further investigation into the case is going on.
Meanwhile, a team from Gandhi Nagar Police Station led by SHO Inspector Sunil Singh Jasrotia under the supervision of SDPO South Dr Sunniya Ashkoor Wani laid a naka near Valmiki Chowk and intercepted a Swift car bearing registration number HR30N-3677.
During checking, police team recovered 25 grams of heroin from the possession of the driver and his associate and arrested them.
The arrested persons have been identified as Munir Ahmed, son of Abdul Hamid of Barn, Kot Bhalwal Jammu and Ajaz Ahmed Sheikh, son of Javid Ahmed Sheikh of Nardani Bhalwal Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 127/19 under section 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Gandhi Nagar and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment.
