Medical Employees Federation apprises Taj of its demands

JAMMU, May 21: A deputation of Jammu and Kashmir Medical Employees Federation, led by its president Sushil Sudan, called on Minister for Health and Medical Education Taj Mohi-ud-Din and submitted him a charter of demands.
As per the memorandum, the Federation demanded amendment in SRO 20 of 1992, clearance of DPC in respect of Pharmacists, Lab Technicians, X-Ray Technicians, Dental and Opth Tech etc besides issuance of orders in favour of employees whose DPC has been cleared, removal of pay anomalies of Drivers, Ministerial staff and others.
Other demands highlighted by the Federation, included release of salary under 2211 head of Family Welfare employees working under new pension scheme and consolidated Safaiwalas who are without wages for the last five to 20 months, rank promotion of FMPHWs at par with other categories, creation of posts of District Pharmacy officers, Block Pharmacy Officers, enhancement of FTA in favour of Basic Health Workers from Rs 45 to Rs 1000 per month, bringing pay of CHOs at par with Central Grades, risk allowance to all categories working in Health Department, sanction of uniform allowance, regularization of all pending cases, two and half day extra pay incentive to all non-gazetted and Ministerial staff, creation of post of Asstt Matron and Matron, promotion of Safaiwalas as Jamadars and Supervisors on seniority basis.
The Minister gave a patient hearing to the deputation and assured to look into all the demands sympathetically.
Those who accompanied Sushil Sudan included Vinod Kumar Sharma, Reham Din,  Yougal Bakshi,  Jarnail Chowdhary, R P Singh, Kamaljeet Sawhney, Anoop Singh, C L Koul, Mohd Saleem and  Vijay Kumar.
