JAMMU, May 24: Continuing its drive to provide better development activities in Jammu city, Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation, today conducted the extensive tour of Shastri Nagar area alongwith officers of engineering wing of Jammu Municipal Corporation and took stock of the various development works in the ward.
In the presence of former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta, MLC Vikram Randhawa, Councilor of Ward Number 22, Jaideep Sharma and members of Shamshan Ghat Shastri Nagar Development Committee, the Mayor kick started the upgradation work of Shamshan Ghat Shatsri Nagar, which includes construction of modernized shed for standing of persons visiting at the cremation ground so that people may get relief from summer and rainy season.
He also directed the engineering wing of JMC to properly maintain the entrance of parking just opposite the cremation ground so that no private and heavy vehicle can pass through this particular parking which is only meant for persons visiting cremation ground.
The Mayor also appealed to the general public to cooperate with Jammu Municipal Corporation in making Jammu city neat, clean and green and avoid throwing silt, garbage etc in the nallah flowing near the cremation ground.
Vinay Gupta, general secretary BJP; members of Shamshan Ghat Shastri Nagar Development Committee, including Sardar Balvinder Singh, Chairman, Lal Man Khajuria, president Resident Welfare Society Gandhi Nagar, Chander Udey Sharma B R Gupta, Chairman Development & Management Committee & other prominent citizens of the area were also present on the occasion.
