Mayor kick starts face lifting work of Municipal Animal Centre

JAMMU, Aug 6: Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation, along with local Councilor Rekha Manhas, conducted an extensive tour of the different areas of Ward Number 62 (Roop Nagar) and kick started various development works in terms of overall face lifting of Municipal Animal Birth Control Centre at Roop Nagar Jammu.
These works included laying of proper floor tiles within the premises of the centre, construction of water reservoir, renovation of doctors room, renovation / installation of main gate, complete white wash of the centre and other facilities.
Mayor directed the Engineering wing to prepare the estimate of remaining development works in the ABC centre so that pending work is completed within the stipulated time period. He further said that Jammu city is fastly proceeding to become a smart city and in this context, Jammu Municipal Corporation has already taken best possible steps for making their own offices / Sub offices, various centres neat, clean and good looking with modern facilities.
Ashwani Kumar, Executive Engineer; Deep Kumar, AEE; Rakesh Kumar, JE of Division-III JMC concerned contractor as well as Sanjeev Bakshi, Neeru Sharma, Rajinder Singh, Rahul Kumar, Jiya Bhagat and prominent of the locality were also present on the occasion.
Later, the Mayor alongwith Rekha Manhas, Councillor Ward No. 62 also inaugurated a new water cooler at Chinore Chowk on the demands of inhabitants, Auto Union as well as shopkeepers of the locality as there was no drinking water facility for the public visiting the area for shopping and other activities in the market in this hot and humid conditions. Mayor informed that JMC is on the job for installing water coolers in each ward of the city on the demands of the concerned councilor and also appealed to the general public to plant more and more saplings in and around their locality where space is available to make the environment eco-friendly, co-operate with JMC in various other development activities being undertaken by the department in various wards of the city.
