JAMMU, Sept 8: Continuing the drive to provide better development and civic amenities to the people of Jammu, Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) today along with Raj Kumar Tarkhan Councillor of Ward No: 51 and Neena Gupta councillor of Ward No 50 kick started the pending work of laying of slab at 2nd floor of Baba Yamuna Puri Temple Community Hall at Mohalla Sandh (Old Channi) in Ward No: 51 to be constructed at the estimate cost of Rs. 15 lakh.
Ajay Gupta, Assistant Executive Engineer, Junior Engineer of Division No: I and other field staff of JMC concerned contractor also accompanied the Mayor during the function. Master Kewal Krishan Gupta, Master Jagan Nath, Raghubir Singh Charak, Waryam Singh Charak, Jagdish Bhagat and other prominent inhabitants of Ward were also present there.
Mayor said this temple is an ancient one and inhabitants of Channi Himmat and its adjoining localities visit there in-connection with religious / traditional functions on routine basis and councillor Raj Kumar as well as Asha Rani Ex Municipal Councillor of the Ward has done an excellent job in overall development of the Ward being largely extended and mostly belongs to rural areas. He also paid on spot instructions to the concerned Engineering Division to prepare an estimate of construction of parapet and other remaining work related to this community hall for the welfare of the locals and assured that necessary funds be released in phased manner for the restoration and beautification of this traditional place. People complimented the Mayor and concerned councillor for taking keen interest in the development works of their ward.
Mayor also appeal to the general public to come forward and co-operate with JMC in the development activities being undertaken by the Department and adopt the habit of segregation of dry and wet waste. He urged them not to use single used plastics / polythene carry bags, plant more and more saplings in and around their localities where sufficient space is available, remove the illegal encroachments at their own level if done on the Government land and Nallahas, so that Jammu city can be made neat, clean, green and encroachment free city.
