JAMMU, Dec 27: Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Chander Mohan Gupta today visited the Bikram Chowk area and inaugurated the pathway fixed with paver tiles from Tawi Bridge towards Tawi Arti Ghat at the bank of ‘Surya Putri’ river Tawi and this work will be executed at the estimated cost of Rs. 8.30 lakh by JMC.
Amit Gupta and Surinder Sharma, JMC Councillors; Chander Mohan Sharma, Balvinder Singh Bhatia and other members of Tawi Andolan and senior citizens of Jammu were also present on the occasion along with Arun Gupta, Executive Engineer; Anil Gupta, Assistant Executive Engineer and other field staff of JMC.
Demand for better beautification and renovation of Tawi Ghat and its surrounding areas was also raised on this occasion.
The Mayor appealed to the public not to throw polythene, plastics and other waste materials in the river Tawi and co-operate with JMC staff in making the city neat, clean and green.
