KATRA, Sept 18: Pilgrimage to Mata Vaishnodevi cave shrine resumed this morning after authorities decided to give a go ahead for the yatra that was briefly suspended yesterday due to inclement weather.

Official sources said that the yatra resumed early this morning and by 7:30 PM, 2688 pilgrims had been registered for their onward journey to the cave shrine through Tarakot track.
After a 22-day suspension due to a landslide and heavy rainfall, the pilgrimage to the shrine had resumed on Wednesday. However, it was halted after a few hours due to inclement weather in the evening.
With the weather improving, the yatra resumed this morning and was progressing smoothly till the last reports came in.
However, the chopper service between base camp Katra and Sanjhi Chhat near the Bhawan, was suspended after a few sorties as the weather was found not suitable for continuing the service.
