UDHAMPUR, Sept 9: Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan today organized a daylong District Level Youth Convention to mark the culmination of village level Mass Awakening Programme in 100 villages.
Minister of State for Finance & Information Technology, Pawan Kumar Gupta was the chief guest, while District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary was the guest of honour on the occasion.
Describing youth as the most vibrant and resourceful segment of the population, the Minister exhorted upon them to play a vital role in fostering and strengthening the socio-economic development of the state and nation. He called upon them to generate maximum awareness regarding the schemes and projects of Government in their surrounding as well as in their family.
He said that these camps were helping to strengthen and enhance existing network of youth clubs and Mahila Mandals with representation from all sections of the society. He asked the Sangathan to organize more such awareness camps in future for generating maximum awareness about flagship programmes as well as social security schemes launched by the government .
While addressing the youth, the DDC called upon them to act as ambassadors for spreading awareness about various Government schemes meant for the overall development of the society. He said that only concerted efforts and dedication can help an individual to achieve his goal and ultimately build the nation.
Resource persons from various departments deliberated on different schemes of their respective departments during the programme.
District Youth Coordinator, NYK, Nissar Ahmed Bhatt presented votes of thanks while Deputy Chief Warden Civil Defence, Swatantra Dev Kotwal conducted the proceedings of the programme.
Zonal Director, NYK , Sukhdev Singh, Dy Director NYK Jammu, S.S Kashap, District Coordinator NYK Udhampur, Nisar Ahmed Bhat, ACD, Dhananter Singh, AD Employment, DSWO, Youth Clubs/Mahilla Mandals/ NCC/ NSS/Bhartiya Scout and Guides also participated in the programme.
