Masks mandatory in Leh as cases surge

JAMMU/LEH, June 30: As COVID cases surged in Leh with 22 testing positive today, the District Magistrate has made wearing of face masks in the district mandatory.
Jammu and Kashmir also reported 83 fresh cases.
Twenty two persons tested positive for the virus in Leh district today taking number of active positive cases to 78 including 77 in Leh and one in Kargil.
In view of surge in cases, the District Magistrate Leh today issued an order making wearing of facemasks mandatory.
Out of 83 COVID positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir, 59 were recorded in Jammu division and 24 in Kashmir.
J&K now has 493 active positive cases including 353 in Jammu and 140 in Kashmir.
Jammu district has highest 306 active positive cases.
