Masked gunmen shot at panch in Kashmir

ANANTNAG: A panch was shot at and critically wounded by unidentified masked gunmen in south Kashmir district of Kulgam on Wednesday evening, official sources said.

They said a group of masked gunmen entered the house of one Abdul Majid Dar at Kulgam and fired at him from very close range.

Dar a panch was rushed to local hospital from where he was referred to Srinagar in a critical condition.

Dar, who was affiliated with Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was elected as panch as an independent candidate.

Security forces immediately launched a massive hunt to nab the gunmen, they said. (AGENCIES)
