Martyrs Day of Guru Teg Bahadur observed

JAMMU, Nov 29: The 347th Martyrs Day (Shahidi Divas) of Shri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji Maharaj was observed with great religious fervor across the region by Sikh community and other followers of Great Guru.
In this connection, a religious function was organized at Gurdwara Yaadgar Sant Bhai Rocha Singh Ji, Gurdwara Singh Sabha at Sector 14 Nanak Nagar in Jammu. The programme was organized under the patronage of Manhant Manjeet Singh Ji, head priest Dera Nangali Sahib, Poonch. A large number of devotees attended the function to seek blessings of great Guru, who sacrificed his life for the cause of humanity and religion.
Bhai Palvinder , Hazoori Ragi Jatha of Sri Darbar Sahib Amritsar and Ragi Jatha of Bhai Gurpreet Singh, Bhai Jasvinder Singh and Istri Satsang Jatha recited `Gurvani Path’.
Mahant Manjeet Singh in his address elaborated on the life history, teachings and sacrifices of Guru Teg Bahadur for the cause of humanity and religion. He also cautioned the youth against the drug abuse and other bad habits.
Narinder Singh, president DGPC Poonch also threw light on the teachings and life history of Guru Teg Bahadur Ji Maharaj.
Dr Surjit Singh Raina, general secretary, extended gratitude to the chief guest and other invitees to the programme in his concluding address remarks. Community lunch was also served to the devotees.
Meanwhile, various Sikh bodies including Bhai Kanhiya Nishkam Sewa Society also organized another function in this connection and sought blessings of Guru Teg Bahadur Ji Maharaj.
