SAMBA, Dec 31: State president, BJP SC Morcha and MLA Samba, Dr Devinder Kumar Manyal today inaugurated stadium road which connects Shamshan Ghat, Krishana Colony and Indra Colony to Sumb road.
The road was constructed under the supervision of PWD (R&B) Department at an estimated cost of Rs 1 crore. The road construction was not taken up for the last 20 years and people of the area were suffering because of dust and water logging at many places, as many big potholes had cropped up on the road.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Manyal said that Central and State Governments are committed to strengthen the road connectivity which is key to socio-economic development. He said Central Government has been so liberal in providing free flow of funds for the development of Jammu and Kashmir thereby fulfilling the slogans of Prime Minister Narendra Modi “Sab Ka Saath Sab Ka Vikas”.
He asked the people to maintain close coordination with the administration to avail benefits of numerous developmental programmes launched by the Government.
XEn PWD, AEE Ashwani, JE, BJP leaders Naresh Amba, Sanjay, Dev Raj, Vinod Singh Sambyal and Sushil Singh were also present.
Later, Dr Manyal addressed a group of 50 teachers at Model Higher Secondary School, Samba, and handed over appreciation certificates and momentous to the teachers, who successfully completed a week-long training regarding modern system of education.
