R.S PURA/VIJAYPUR, July 19: All J&K Panchayat Conference (AJKPC) has expressed resentment over the alleged neglect of several villages which have not been included in the list of reserved villages of International Borders (IB) under SRO 518.
Addressing media persons here today, Gurdeep Singh Saini, AJKPC General Secretary and Sarpanch of Gandali Panchayat, R.S Pura said there are several villages which despite being near to the IB have not been included in the list for special reservations and demanded a modification in the list.
Referring to his Panchayat Gandali, Saini said that his Panchayat is only 4.8 km from the IB (aerial distance) and people of these villages have always suffered shelling and firing by Pakistan which has also affected the education of students there.
“There are several villages behind his Panchayat that have been included in the list which proves that a big mistake has occurred in preparing the list,” he maintained.
Saini appealed to the Lieutenant Governor, Girish Chandra Murmu to intervene into the matter and give directions to the officials to include all such neglected villages in the list for getting reservation.
