JAMMU, Jan 20: Film Mantostaan, shot in beautiful locations of Jammu and Poonch has received Best Film Critics Award at Rajasthan International Film Festival, which was held in Jaipur.
The film has also received best actor award jointly shared by Shoib Nikash Shah and Sonal Sehgal. Last year Mantostaan received appreciations at Cannes Film Festival in France.
Tariq Khan, Producer of the film disclosed that Mantostaan have started its global journey with Cannes and now added another feather by bagging Best Film Critics Award in Rajasthan International Film Festival at Jaipur. Before release of film in India, the film get international appreciation from world reputed directors, writers and actors as script of the film was different from other Indian films, he added.
Tariq said Mantostaan is based on writer Sadaat Hussain Mantoo’s short stories and seek their inspiration from the flames of the Indo-Pak partition. Mantostaan is first dark satire on the largest mass migration when millions of people were slaughtered and millions were displaced during India- Pakistan partition of 1947.
Director Rahat Kazmi’s Mantostaan started its journey with world premiere at Cannes last year and it has been creating a wave in the world festivals since then.
During the award ceremony, actress Sonal Sehgal, lead actor Shoib Nikash Shah, Producer and Actor Tariq Khan, Actor and Line Producer Zahid Qureshi and Zeba Sajid and Director Rahat Kazmi were also present. Team members of film Mantostaan Aditya Partap Singh and Basnet were also present on the occasion.
Film Director Rahat Kazmi said that very soon they will decide the launch of this film in India and in Jammu and Kashmir too so that people will to acknowledge our hard-work. After formal release of Mantostaan, our crew members will decide to start new film which would too be shot in beautiful location of Jammu province, he added.
