Manohar warns BJP to stop politics over surgical strikes

JAMMU, Oct 12: Former minister and senior Congress leader Dr Manohar Lal Sharma today warned the BJP and its leadership to stop politics over surgical strike.
Addressing public meetings at Mangloor and Thara  Kalyal in Billawar constituency today, Dr Sharma alleged that BJP was indulging in cheap and ugly politics to take the credit of the surgical strikes which is solely a brave step of soldiers of Indian Army appreciated by all sections of society irrespective of party affiliation and politics.
Dr Sharma lauded the role of Army soldiers who have  shown utmost courage and determination in dealing with the proxy war as well as these surgical strikes, keeping  sanctity of our borders irrespective of the repeated attempts made by the Pakistan army.
Congress leader said that Army has always given befitting reply to our enemies who have tried to destabilize our peaceful atmosphere by proxy war in different ways and whenever it got happened our brave soldiers gave supreme sacrifices to guard the country from internal or external aggression.
Dr Sharma expressed serious concern and accused the BJP -PDP Government of neglecting the martyrdom of soldiers from Jammu, namely Karnail Singh and Ravi Paul in Uri attack and  Mulk Raj  at Pathankote Air base and Naib Sub Ram Singh in Assam militants’ attack. He alleged that no ex-gratia relief was provided to their families.
He demanded that State Govt should provide Rs 25 lakh ex-gratia/ relief to the families of the martyrs. Shiv Kumar Sharma, Puran Chand, Karan Singh, Budhi Singh, Romesh Sapolia,  Sham Sapolia and Hans Raj also spoke on the occasion.
