JAMMU, Oct 12: A 50-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by setting himself ablaze in Talab Tillo area of city outskirts.
According to a police spokesman, a man identified as Tirlok Chand son of Chanan Ram, resident of Puran Nagar (Talab Tillo), who was an auto-driver by profession, set himself ablaze this evening at his residence by pouring kerosene oil on him.
“With over 70% burn injuries, the injured man was rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where he succumbed to his injuries after some time”, the spokesman said, adding, the body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary room of the hospital for postmortem.
The concerned police had taken cognizance of the matter.
